Call to parents to parents in Dudley to support children’s emotional wellbeing

Please could you pass this on to any parents in contact with you.

Centre for Mental Health is an independent charity.  We are currently working with Dudley Public Health to understand the emotional and mental health needs of children and young people aged up to 25 years in Dudley.  We are really eager to get your views on the main issues affecting children and young people’s wellbeing.  We’ll be seeking your thoughts on how to help all children in Dudley to:

  • build strong emotional and mental health
  • develop resilience in the face of setbacks and difficult times
  • recover if they hit emotional or behavioural difficulties or become unwell

The Centre would like to invite you to a discussion group where we can begin to explore these questions and work with you to shape a plan for moving forward.

Three separate events are planned at the following times and places:

– 9:00-12:30, 17th May, Stourbridge Children’s Centre, Forge Road, Stourbridge, DY8 1X

-13:00-16:30, 20th May, Abbey Room, Dudley Archives, Tipton Road, Dudley, DY1 4SQ

-13:00-16:30,7th June, Saltwells Education Centre, Bowling Green Road, Dudley, DY2 9LY.

Please contact Jeana in advance on jeana.hodges@centreformentalhealth.org.uk or telephone 02078278315 to let us know that you will be attending.  We will then forward directions. We are also happy to refund the cost of local travel if you can bring your receipt with you when you attend.

Should you be unable to come to any of the groups planned, there are other chances to help us understand your views. For example, we would really value your help with completing an online survey which is below:

We are also very happy to phone you to get your thoughts.  Please email us to let us know if you would welcome a telephone chat.

We really look forward to working with you to make positive change for children and young people in Dudley.
