Below are the proposed plans but why not help finalise them! If you are interested please email eileenfielding@dudleycvs.org.uk
The event is likely to run 11 – 3 pm
Volunteering Champion event where we say thanks to outgoing Mayor and welcome new Mayor to the role will be approx. The new and outgoing Mayor will tour all the stalls in the marketplace in main hall at DY1
Marketplace in main hall at DY1 will hopefully be filled with young people’s groups, mostly uniformed groups eg brownies, guides, scouts, ATC, Air cadets etc, as the event is also aimed at connecting them up and hopefully building some partnerships + opportunity for them to recruit volunteers. Would also like to invite other young people’s groups, so they can all connect.
Dudley CVS presence to talk about support we can offer groups
Coincides with Great Get Together in memory of Jo Cox – national event – aiming at bringing people together to socialise and connect [which is why it’s 17th June]
Hoping to have bouncy castle, bunting and gazebos with voluntary/community groups on grassed area outside DY1 and also on car park at back [which will be closed for maximum space] where there will hopefully be some activities eg dribbling football around cones or similar
Craft corner in small office off café
Coffee and tea counter with cake, biscuits etc
Cake competition
Black Country Radio roadshow set up outside the front
Road at front of DY1 blocked off with temporary barriers to make is safer for pedestrians
Fire personnel + engine [need to have clear exit in event of receiving a shout] so they will pull on road at front of DY1
A new four week programme for new and soon to be parents

Come be inspired and Make things Happen!
Dudley Council cares about its communities; we know that you do too and we want to work with you to make things even better!
We know that people all across the borough are making amazing things happen in the places they live, study or work. We want to bring together people with awesome ideas that want to improve the places they live in, with people who can help make these things happen by sharing time, spaces, knowledge, resources or funding.
So on Saturday 29 April 2017 we are doing just that! We are bringing together people with ideas such as for Dudley’s first Silent Disco for people with autism, Grow it, Cook it, Eat it! an Art Attack idea, a ladies group that shares skills and encouraging people with disabilities and additional needs into rowing! To name a few.
Come along and help to Make it Happen if you:
So come on! Get thinking, get creative, get together and ultimately MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Please see the below request from Dr Anne Patterson who is conducting a ground-breaking research project at Nottingham University on the issue of the Forced Marriage of people with learning disabilities.
More detail is below, but in short she is seeking support for professionals to join a focus group from across the west midlands area and a venue for this to take place.
Please contact Dr. Patterson directly and not myself (details below) if you can assist and please share with colleagues and partners. Here is the website for the project: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/research/groups/mymarriagemychoice/
At the Dudley CYPF Network held on 10th March we shared a who is who? and what is what ? presentation. Members were presented with the DMBC People Directorate and Children’s Services Structure Charts and a Strategic Representation Chart. These can all be found on the Structure Chart static page on this blog
Dear Friends, Colleagues and Partners
Happy New 17/18 financial year. As we begin this new year some of you will be excited by the opportunities that are ahead for others, as always, there are concerns about what the future holds. There are very few certainties, however as your supporter and champion you can count on me to continue to involve you all in as many opportunities as possible. I will also continue to keep you updated and informed using as many methods as possible, face to face at the network, by email, twitter, facebook and of course this blog!!. The network and blog followers continue to grow at pace and recent feedback gives us confidence that you are finding the activity helpful and relevant.
In a bid to remain relevant and useful I have uploaded my Children’s Officer delivery plan for 17/18 so you can view what I have planned to let you have the chance to offer thoughts and feedback. Dudley CVS – Childrens Officer delivery plan 2017-18
I look forward to seeing you soon…………………………………….
