Safer Recruitment  – Friday 9^th February 2018, 9:00 – 5:00 at Saltwells

The one day course, separated into 4 modules, looks at how safer recruitment fits within the wider context of safeguarding, focusing on good recruitment and selection practices and set out procedures and strategies to help managers deter, identify and reject applications who are unsuitable to work with children

Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2) – 20^th February 2018, at Saltwells

DCSB has adopted the GCP2 assessment and is offering a one day training programme to enable practitioners to effectively use the tool. The GCP2 is a practical tool which supports practitioners in measuring the quality of care delivered to an individual child from an individual carer or carers over a short window of time, and is designed to give a representative overview of the current level of care. The grades are based on observations and good quality evidence gathered during this window.

All practitioners using the GCP2 must have attended and passed this licensed training programme. DSCB is working towards making GCP2 training mandatory so please prioritise this.
